Alas Purwo National Park

Alas Purwo National Park or in Indonesia called Taman Nasional Alas Purwo is one of national park which is located on East Java. It’s exactly on Tegaldlimo and Purwoharjp district, Banyuwangi regency. Alas Purwo national park has flat topography generally, it’s mild to west undulating with the highest peak of Mount Linga Sweet, which is about 322 meters above the sea level. Almost the entire of the ground state is a kind of sandy clay and clay fraction form.

Generally, the type of forest in Alas Purwo National Park is lowland rain forest. Bamboo forest are the dominant formations, which is about 40% of the forest total area. By now, this national park has recorded at least 584 species of plants consisting of grasses, herbs, shrubs, lianas and trees.

Alas Purwo National Park widely function as the forest protected and ecosystem. Based on ecosystem type, forest in this national park divided into six types. Those are bamboo forest, beach forest, mangrove forest, plantation, natural forest, and pastures ( feeding ground ). The diversity of fauna in Alas Purwo National Park divided into four classes. They are mammals, aves, piscess and reptiles. They have at least 31 species of mammals such as Bull ( Bos Javanicus ), Deer ( Cervus Timorensis ), Dhole ( Cuon Alpinus ), Boar ( Sus Scrofa ), Leopard ( Panthera Pardus ), Grey Monkey ( Macaca Fascicularis ) and Lizard ( Varanus Salvator ).
