Batik has been Indonesia culture commodity no 1 now. Batik, which has unique and beautiful motif is cloth that now known in the world and representative the Indonesia culture. In Indonesia it self, batik has been produced in many central batik, such as in Pekalongan, Solo, and Semarang.
Solo has several central batik that become market center and cultural heritage. They are Kampung Batik Laweyan, Kampung Batik Kauman, and Pasar Klewer.
Kampung Batik Laweyan ( Laweyan Batik Village )
Laweyen is one of popular the central batik in Solo. This village is also known as Kampung Batik of Solo or Batik Village Solo. There are a lot of history left in this village until became icons Batik Solo since 19th century. There are several village which has became part of Laweyan Batik Icon. They are Laweyan village, Tegalsari village, Tegalayu village, Batikan and Jongke, whose the citizen are batik producers and traders since the beginning until now.
Laweyan village is near Dr. Rajiman street, which is the shaft of Kasunanan Surakarta palace, formerly Mataram palace. In this way street, tourist will be entertaining by many big building with good ornament and architecture. The big building seems like the small palace which is separated by path way or narrow road that only enough for one person or a motorcycle. So, when the tourist enjoy their vacation, they will pass through the narrow road with the high walls and big building, such as discovery exotic old building.

Klewer market is one of Solo icon which always crowded by the citizen local and non Solo citizen. This is very historical place in Solo. In this place, tourist can find a wide range of convection production in Solo and surrounding area. This place is also the center of batik selling in Solo and also the important part of Batik center in Solo.
